International Photography Contest Montanha "Portugal´s Highest Peaks"

The surface of planet Earth is 24% mountainous; 10% of the world population lives in mountainous terrain. MiratecArts presents the third International Photography Contest Montanha under the theme of "Portugal´s Highest Peaks". Portugal has three main peaks: Pico island in Azores at 2351m above the sea level, Serra da Estrela at 1993m and Pico Ruivo in Madeira island at 1862m.

Finalists will take part in an exhibition on the island of Pico, Azores. The winners also receive a future solo exhibition (if they wish), will be invited to participate in a MiratecArts program and also have the opportunity to have their image turned into a Portugal stamp (CTT).

Conditions of participation:
- Participation is open to any person over 18 years old.
- Works must be submitted until November 1st, 2016, via montanhapicofestival@gmail.com
- The photographs presented, maximum of three per participant, may be in color, black-and-white or sepia. Must be original unmanipulated except for color transformation for B & W or sepia, tweaking contrast, brightness and reframing.
- Photos should be submitted in digital format JPG or JPEG, with dimension of at least 2000 pixels on the longest dimension.
- Photographs should be accompanied by a maximum of 1200 characters (without spaces) specification, according to the contest theme.

The message for entering the competition should include:
- The title of the photo / s;
- The identification of the location of the photo;
- Name and contact of the photographer.

The finalists photos will be printed for the exhibition only and not for sale. The winners photos will also be used in the organization´s website and marketing materials, always crediting the artist.

BONUS PRIZE: Portuguese Republic Stamp (CTT)
The participation of the winners by submitting the photograph for a stamp design implies the full transmission, by the participant, of the respective patrimonial copyright, in favor of CTT. CTT may modify all or part of images, as well as full or partially integrate such image in other works or use them in conjunction with other creations. The participant will keep the moral rights as the author of the image and will be identified by full name, abbreviated or alias, as indicated in the agreement. Agreement with CTT will be set after the contest. Each of the three winning proposals implemented into a stamp will be awarded the amount of 1,200 Euros, award delivered by the Philatelic Director of CTT.
Use of participation: Proposals chosen as winners may be used by CTT for the creation of Portugal stamps, as well as future actions of communication and advertising by the company.
Exclusion conditions: All proposals will be subject to analysis, may be excluded if contains elements written or figurative that are against public morals, good customs or any religious beliefs and convictions, political or ideological, or have racist, xenophobic, defamatory or libelous against the good name or reputation of any natural or legal persons. CTT reserves the right to exclude any proposal without notice.

Mountain Pico Festival is an arts celebration taking place in January on the island of Pico, Azores. Programming is subject to the "mountain" theme.
