We are proud to announce the launch of the Bridgeman Studio Award 2017.

This year’s winning artist will win a £1,000 book cover commission to create the cover art for best-selling author Beth Lewis’s next title, published by The Borough Press, an imprint of HarperCollins.

The Bridgeman Studio Award is an annual global contemporary art competition that invites photographers, illustrators, and artists the opportunity to enter up to five existing or new artworks based on this year’s theme, ‘DARK SUMMER.’

BSA2016 winner now available in bookstores
Last year’s winning commission is already gracing high street stores and is even being placed in window displays at leading high street bookstores. The artwork, beautifully illustrated by Aitch, an artist from Romania, was created for author Rosie Garland’s third title, ‘The Night Brother.’

This year’s judging panel will include:

Beth Lewis (Author)

Claire Ward (Creative Director – HarperCollins Fiction & Non-Fiction)

Susie Doore (Publishing Director – The Borough Press)

Victoria Bridgeman (CEO – Bridgeman Images)

Eileen Cooper (RA – Artist)

Aretha Campbell (Bridgeman Images Artist Manager)

And more to be announced

Judging will take place in September and the winners will be announced in November.

Only the winning artist will be given the £1,000 Commission to create artwork so The Borough Press creative team can work with in creating the final book cover design, which will be released May 2018.

The competition is now open for entries and the closing date will be 31st August 2017.
