XI INTERNATIONAL Boardgaming Photography AWARD 2018

The International Boardgaming Photography Award is being organized by the cultural association Jugamos Tod@s as part of the activities of the International Games Festival in Cordoba (Spain) since 2008.

Every year, we get thousands of pictures from around the world about games, and people playing! Images of beautiful components, funny montages, amazing moments... The theme of the photographs is games or the act of playing in any of its manifestations. The photos may show any aspect of recreational activity: games of any kind, people playing, games of the world, modern or classic boardgames, details of game components, set-ups and generally any display of games or play.

The finalists’ photos, a minimum of 10, will form part of an exhibition in the International Game Festival Cordoba 2018.
The final judgement of the XI International Boardgaming Photography Award 2018 will be announced on October 13th, during the XIII International Games Festival Cordoba 2018 (October 11-14 2018). The International Games Festival in Córdoba is the main boardgaming event in Spain and South of Europe.

Photos may be submitted (by post or e-mail) from now, until September 20th 2018.

The finalists’ photos, a minimum of 10, will form part of an exhibition in the International Game Festival Cordoba 2018. The photos will then be judged by a judging panel consisting of people from the cultural games association Jugamos Tod@s, persons and representatives sponsoring the International Game Festival Cordoba 2018, guest international board game designers and other persons of special significance.

The first prize is 513 € (313 € in cash sponsored by Idealudica.com + 200 € for games sponsored by dracotienda.com). The judging panel will also award 2 consolation prizes, with 100 € to buy games at dracotienda.com, and other minor prizes.All techniques are valid, including digital photography, in black and white or color.

A first phase of selection will be carried out by the competition organisers. The finalists’ photos, a minimum of 10, will form part of an exhibition in the International Game Festival Cordoba 2018. The photos will then be judged by a judging panel consisting of people from the cultural games association Jugamos Tod@s, persons and representatives sponsoring the International Game Festival Cordoba 2018, guest international board game designers and other persons of special significance; their judgement is final. The persons making up the definitive judging panel will be published along with their final decision.
The final judgement of the panel will be announced on October 13th, during the International Games Festival Cordoba 2018. This will be published in a press release, on the festival website, specific mediums, etc.. Winning persons will be informed directly.
