The PhMuseum Photobook Award is a biennial initiative meant to support photography publishing. Through this 1st edition, a project will be selected to be published by PhMuseum, who will cover production and distribution costs. The book will have a minimum print run of 500 copies, with 50 copies and 5% of royalties destined to the author.

The main partner of this edition is MPB, Europe’s top camera reseller, who will further identify in collaboration with PhMuseum an author for their Special Mention, granting a €800 voucher to spend on used photo and video gear on mpb.com.

The main prize recipient will be announced at Photobook Mania 2025 on 18-19 October in Bologna, Italy. The work will be curated by PhMuseum Artistic Director Giuseppe Oliverio and Visual Editor Camilla Marrese across editing, design, and production. It will be printed by Summer 2026, and presented at PhMuseum Days 2026 International Photography Festival in Bologna, Italy.

The theme is open, and all approaches are welcome. You can submit ongoing or completed projects that haven’t yet been developed in the book form. If you have it, you are welcome to upload a book dummy in pdf format and/or a youtube video of the dummy. Co-publishing opportunities are also an option, which will be considered on a case by case basis. The submitted project doesn't require prior editing or design. It may be self-published yet in fewer than 100 copies. If you need more info check FAQs.
