5th Barcelona International Photography Festival on Human Rights and Global Justice
We are now accepting submissions for the 5th edition of the BCN-DH Photography Contest, the Barcelona International Photography Festival on Human Rights and Global Justice.
This initiative is organized by the Associació Catalana per la Pau (ACP) and Mas Retina, and aims to discover, recognize, and promote the best photographic projects related to human rights and global justice. The inclusion of a gender perspective will be especially valued.
Using photography as a tool for social justice, the contest seeks to offer a lens through which to view global issues and the root causes behind them. Our goal is to create spaces for reflection and information that foster a critical and engaged citizenry capable of participating in today’s debates.
The ten projects selected by the jury will be exhibited in the streets of Barcelona from December 1. 2025, to January 7, 2026, and will be included in the 2025 edition catalog**.
Project submissions must be made exclusively through the PICTER platform, where prior registration is required.
15 digital images must be submitted.
Finalist results will be announced on October 30, and the winners on December 10.

Prizes:

The 10 projects selected by the jury will be exhibited during the festival on the streets of Barcelona and will be included in the 2025 edition catalog.
A €3,000 cash prize will receive the best of the ten projects as the winner of the competition and her category
Three €400 prizes will be awarded to the best works in the three remaining categories not represented by the overall winner.
Prize payments will be made to the winning authors and will be subject to applicable tax laws according to the nationality of the recipients.

Eligibility:

The competition is open to amateur and professional photographers of any nationality who are familiar with the documentary and / or photojournalistic approach. All entrants must abide by the terms and conditions of the 2023 call for entries Employees or members of Más Retina,ACP or IAP are not permitted to enter the competition.

Copyrights & Usage Rights:

The participant assumes the authorship and originality of the registered works; declaring that he/she is the legitimate owner of all the rights inherent to it and without any limitation.
The participants are fully responsible for being the only authors, that there are no rights to third parties or any claim for image rights that may arise from the works submitted to the contest.
