The Kuala Lumpur International Photoawards 2017 Portrait Prize is an annual global contest open to all photographers, seeking the very best in contemporary portraiture. This year's Themed Category is DEFINING FAMILY. There is also an OPEN category. A total prizemoney of $13,500, commissioned trophies, workshop prizes and Nikon cameras and exhibition of winners in Kuala Lumpur in September 2017.

Single Image categories : 1st -$4000 and trophy, 2nd $1000, 3rd $500
Photo story category : 1st - $1500 and trophy and Featured Interview and Article with POSITIIV Magazine, 2nd - $500, 3rd - $500
BEST SOUTH EAST ASIAN Entry : 1st - Obscura Festival Workshop value $750 and Nikon KeyMission 360 camera, 2nd - Invisible Photographer Asia Workshop - value $600 and Nikon KeyMission 170 camera, 3rd - Nikon KeyMission 80 camera

COPYRIGHT : The Photographer always retains the copyright of all submitted images at all times, except in relation to the previous provision, that is, any free use shall only be in connection with the promotion of KL INTERNATIONAL PHOTOAWARDS by print & web.
USAGE : Entrants agree that the organisers may use any entries featured in the exhibition without any payment to the Photographer, model or any third party for any sales, marketing, educational and publicity use on, and in, all media worldwide including catalogues, posters, postcards, the Internet and within a television documentary related to the exhibition for 3 years from the close of the contest. However, such free use shall only be in connection with the KL INTERNATIONAL PHOTOAWARDS and its promotion, and the photographer, and if appropriate the agency, will receive credit for such use.
