2022 Getxophoto Open Call

The opportunity for visual artists to exhibit their work at Getxophoto

Getxophoto’s Open Call provides an opportunity for visual artists and photographers to exhibit their work at the next edition of the Festival, in June 2022. The theme to be addressed in the 16th edition is To Imagine.

The Festival invite artists from all over the world to participate in this call with proposals that use photography, video, installation, performance, actions, digital art or any other means of visual expression.

The international jury made up of Jon Uriarte –digital curator at The Photographers’ Gallery (UK)–, Marina Paulenka –independent curator (Croatia)–, Thyago Nogueira –head of photography at the Instituto Moreira Salles (Brazil)– and Damarice Amao –curator at the Centre Pompidou (France)– will select 12 shortlisted projects and 3 winning projects. The latter three will form part of the programme of this year’s Festival.

What winners receive

3 artists (if the jury finds it convenient, the number of winners may be increased) will benefit from:

The production of an exhibition at Getxophoto Festival alongside recognized contemporary visual artists
Fee of 400€ as participant of Getxophoto Festival
Accomodation for 2 nights during the Opening Week
Inclusion in the Festival’s programme and publication
Inclusion in the Festival’s communication campaign
Dedicated entry on the Festival website

Eligibility:

Getxophoto Open Call is open to all emerging and established visual artists worldwide. All participants must be at least 18 years old at the time of submission.

Copyrights & Usage Rights:

The rights of the work will remain property of the author/s.

Entrants to the Getxophoto Open Call 2022 submission must confirm that they are the authors and copyright owners of all images submitted and that their work does not infringe the privacy, copyright or any other rights of any person.

The entrant guarantees that they have the explicit consent of all people who are pictured in their submitted images (the legal guardian, in the case of children) to exhibit and publish the images as described in these terms and conditions.

By participating, the selected entries may be reproduced by Begihandi / Getxophoto in any of its publications, web pages, social networks and/or any promotional material being referenced or credited only for promotional use (not for commercial use). 2 to 3 images from each selected entries may be released to the press to illustrate an article or report that reviews or reports on the Open Call or Getxophoto Festival and Begihandi / Getxophoto will not be required to pay any additional fee or request any additional approval in relation to such use.
