2025 New York Photography Awards

The New York Photography Awards program honors, recognizes, and promotes outstanding photographers worldwide, who share their vision with the world, through the lenses that portray the beauty of immutable reality, along with the dichotomy of Big Apple’s panorama.

Photography is an art form, with the combination of creative dispositions and underlying afternotes. Therefore, we encourage all photographers, from amateurs to professionals, to express themselves through image, and rekindle sparks of the forgotten past with their everlasting visual arts.
Similar to Pygmalion’s time-transcendent sculptures, your creative vision will be enshrined for millennia to come. This is your era to merge past, present, and future within ephemeral imagery.

Categories:
The New York Photography Awards Categories are divided into 11 award programs - New York Photography, Architecture Photography, Commercial Photography, Editorial Photography, Fashion Photography, Fine Art Photography, Minimalist Photography, Nature Photography, People Photography, Black & White Photography, and other special categories, such as Event Photography, Mobile Photography, Film Photography, etc.

Submission Requirement:
All entries must be submitted for judging exactly as published or implemented and may not be modified for the competition. The New York Photography Awards may request proof of initial production and / or publication date.

A written translation or adaptation must accompany non-English entries. The award reserves the right to re-categorize incorrectly classified entries. Judges reserve the right to withhold an award in a category if submissions do not meet their expectations.

Entry Brief:
We recommend each synopsis to be kept at approximately 350 words. Do utilize this section to elaborate on the piece as well as providing the jury with a better understanding of your subject. A written translation or adaptation must accompany non-English entries.

Image Submission:
The submissions should be saved in a flattened JPEG or JPG format. (keep them under 4MB, 1,200px wide is preferable, 300dpi, RGB).

Evaluation Criteria:
Each submission is judged of its own accord, on a score scale of 1-100. The criteria are as follows:
- Originality (Uniqueness of Concept / Expression of Theme)
- Creativity (Storytelling / Mood)
- Technical Execution (Composition, Color, Lighting, Exposure & Focus)
- Subject Matter / Relevancy to Category Topic
- Overall Impression / Wow Factor

*Awards will not be presented to entrants with an average score under 50.

The New York Photography Awards and International Awards Associate’s decision are final in its sole discretion and binding in relation to all matters relating to Competitions and may not be subject to any discussions or correspondence.
