Photography can capture a fleeting moment of beauty, document the reality of time, express inner emotions, and showcase artistic aesthetics. In an era where photography equipment is easily accessible, everyone can take photos. However, only those who can clearly convey their unique style through visual art can truly be called "photographers."

The "SKM PHOTO Shin Kong Mitsukoshi International Photography Contest" is a platform created for professional photographers, serving as a starting point for making your dreams come true. This event encourages photographers to create a series of five works based on self-defined themes, allowing them to "deconstruct" the perspective of visual art in photography. It prompts them to think about the structure and flow of their work, to break down the unique visual elements captured through the viewfinder, and to convey a personal and cohesive creative concept and visual art style. It is a challenge that invites participants to explore their preferred photography styles and embark on a journey towards realizing their dreams!

- Special Award of the Year is an award for individual works, and 3 works will be chosen from entered works of the year by the judges; this award is independently established, and winners of other awards are still eligible for this award.
- All prizewinning works may participate in the showings of the "2025 SKM Photography art fair,"and the prizewinners will also receive one "2025 Shin Kong Mitsukoshi International Photography Contest Commemorative Album”, one "Certificate of merit," and 2 admission tickets to the " SKM PHOTO Art Fair." (Actual prizes awarded are at the sole discretion of the organizer.)

All photography lovers are welcome, no age limit worldwide

Copyrights & Usage Rights:

Entrants agree to authorize gratis copyright of the prize-winning work to the organizer, which will be irrevocable, with permanent effect, and applicable worldwide, i.e. the right to reproduce, distribute the prize-winning work or make derivatives thereof (including record of the creator’s name) on any media at the present or in the future, e.g. use it in series events of Shin Kong Mitsukoshi International Photo Joint Exhibition for the purpose of event promotion, display the prize winner’s work publicly, use it in graphic productions of this event and publish it on websites, etc. Prize winners that don’t consent to the above conditions will be deemed as waiving their prize-winning right. Entrants cannot take any action or make any statement violating rules of this contest once entered.
