The theme and objective are to reward and disseminate the work of professional or amateur artists who inspire a positive social transformation by addressing with their projects matters of poverty and social exclusion experienced by millions of human beings around the world.

Among the jury, we find distinguished referents of photography such as Isabel Muñoz, Spanish National Photography Award 2016, twice World Press Photo Award and Medal of Merit in Fine Arts; Claude Bussac, General Director of Art and Festivals of La Fábrica and Director of PHotoESPAÑA; and Ana Palacios, winner of the 1st Edition of the International Photography Competition Esperanza Pertusa. Journalist and documentary photographer focused on human rights issues who collaborates with Manos Unidas, UNICEF, or África Directo.

Prizes:

The first price consists of 2000€ and the two runners-up prizes of €500.

Eligibility:

Photographers of legal age of any nationality from any place of residence may submit for the Esperanza Pertusa Photography Prize original and unpublished works on the subject of poverty and social exclusion, as long as those works have not previously won prizes in other competitions and as long as their publishing rights have not been committed.

Copyrights & Usage Rights:

The copyright of the works submitted to the competition must be held by their authors. The Fundación Esperanza Pertusa will be exempt from any liability arising from plagiarism or any other infringement of the legislation in force which may befall the works.
