The Center for Photographic Art (CPA) is excited to announce the 2017 International Juried Exhibition with $10,000 in awards! To celebrate the 50th Anniversary of CPA’s historic gallery, founded by the Friends of Photography in 1967, forty-five juror-selected photographs will be exhibited from November 4 through December 23 in our historic gallery in Carmel, California, and vie for eight cash awards totaling $10,000. These photographs will also be featured in an online gallery on the CPA website along with an additional forty-five juror selected images. An exhibition catalog of the entire gallery and online exhibition will be available for purchase. An entry discount is available for new and current CPA members.

This year’s juror is Philip Brookman, Consulting Curator in the Department of Photographs at the National Gallery of Art, Washington, D.C. and former Senior Curator of Photography and Media Arts, Corcoran Gallery of Art. Mr. Brookman has organized exhibitions by celebrated artists such as Eadweard Muybridge, Sally Mann, Emmet Gowin, Robert Frank, Arnold Newman and Danny Lyon and brings a deep understanding and broad appreciation of diverse photographic styles, genres and mediums to CPA’s 2017 International Juried Exhibition.
