Inspired by the Paris 2024 Games, this new festival of photography and sports culture will explore the many dimensions of sports as a cultural, social, human, and artistic phenomenon. Its editorial approach is unique, placing sports at the heart of cultural and societal issues.
The Deauville Photo Sport Festival will celebrate not only the beauty of images but also the stories they tell, the values they embody, and the transformations they inspire.
Festival Goals :
Value : Showcase the best of contemporary sports photography in terms of technical performance, photographic aesthetics, and documentary value.
Inspire : Through the most moving, impactful, and inspiring sports photo reports with a social focus, created worldwide.
Celebrate : The history of sports culture, through historical thematic exhibitions, educational focuses on specific sports, and tributes to the greatest sports photographers and photographic collections worldwide.
The festival will take place annually from June to September.
It will feature around ten free-access exhibitions throughout the city during the summer months, along with a grand opening evening showcasing about fifteen photo reports and awarding prizes to photographers, media, and publishers.
The festival aims to gather a community of sports enthusiasts in Deauville each year, from the public to key industry professionals.

Prizes:

All photos selected by the editorial committee and presented as part of the festival will be eligible for demonstration rights compensation.
Broad promotion of exhibitions and photographers through Deauville’s dedicated communication channels (InDeauville website and newsletter, city and festival social media, and potentially a festival catalog) and through the festival’s press kits and releases.
Participation in the Festival’s Opening Evening and invitation to the “Pro Dinner” closing the evening.

Copyrights & Usage Rights:

Contributors selected by the editorial committee for exhibitions, screenings, or as finalists in an award category grant the Organizer the right to use their names, first names, and images.
