The Open Call for Discovery Awards 2024 is now accepting submissions!

The finalists will be able to see their works exhibited in Encontros da Imagem International Photography and Visual Arts festival in 2024, also having the chance to be a part of the annual publication.

For the 34th edition of the photo festival Encontros da Imagem, we would like to present different trends in contemporary photography. Highlight its democracy and richness in its different approaches. Therefore, all projects are welcome: from documentary typology works to others that explore the limits of photographic construction.

The final projects will be evaluated and selected by an independent jury, nationally and internationally known in the visual arts field. We will reveal them very soon!

Finalists receive: Exhibition in the festival in September-October 2024.

Prizes:

- The finalists will have their work produced and exhibited at the 2024 edition of the festival;
- The finalists will have their work published in the catalog of the 2024 edition;
- The winner of the Discovery Awards will be awarded with 1000€ (one thousand euros)

Eligibility:

Open to all artists, professional or amateur, national or international over 18 years old.

Copyrights & Usage Rights:

The images that are part of the selected work, can be used by the festival in order to promote exhibitions and activities in it.
