The Empire State Building stands at the center of it all—an international icon of innovation and culture. It’s also one of the most photographed landmarks in the world. Each photo of or from the Empire State Building captures a unique moment in time, and we want to see yours!
A grand prize winner and a runner-up will be chosen in the 2019 Photo Contest.
Prizes:
Grand Prize:
One (1) Grand Prize: Winner will receive $5,000 awarded as a check to be sent by overnight mail (for Japanese Winner, by any other payment method to be designated by Sponsor). The normal costs of sending the check shall be borne by the Sponsor.
Runner-Up Prize:
One (1) Runner-Up Prize: Winner will receive $1,500 awarded as a check to be sent by overnight mail (for Japanese Winner, by any other payment method to be designated by Sponsor). The normal costs of sending the check shall be borne by the Sponsor.
The total ARV for the Grand Prize and the Runner-Up Prize is $6,500
Eligibility:
The Contest is open to legal permanent residents who are eighteen (18) years of age or older on June 17, 2019 (unless otherwise noted below) of any of the following countries: the 50 United States and the District of Columbia, the United Kingdom, China, France, Canada (excluding Quebec), Germany, Australia, South Korea, India and Japan (must be 20 years or older in Japan).
Copyrights & Usage Rights:
Contestant hereby grants to Sponsor to the full extent permitted by law: [i] a non-exclusive, irrevocable, fully-paid, royalty-free, sub-licensable and transferable (in whole or part) worldwide right to use such Contestant’s name, likenesses, voices and biographical information; and [ii] a non-exclusive, sub-licensable, irrevocable and royalty-free worldwide license under all copyrights (with the exception of unknown types of use), trademarks, patents, trade secrets, privacy and publicity rights and other intellectual property rights to use, reproduce, transmit, print, publish, publicly display, exhibit, distribute, redistribute, copy, index, comment on, modify, adapt , translate, create derivative works based upon, publicly perform, make available and otherwise exploit such Entry (except where this constitutes a derogatory treatment of the Entry which is capable of prejudicing such Contestant’s legitimate intellectual or personal interests), in whole or in part, in all media formats and channels now known or hereafter devised (including on Sponsor’s website and third-party websites and platforms such as Facebook, YouTube and Twitter), in any number of copies and without limit as to manner and frequency of use, without further notice to you, with or without attribution, and without the requirement of permission from or payment to such Contestant or any other person or entity; provided, however, that if you are a Contestant from Germany or France, the granting of these rights is limited to a maximum duration of two (2) years; moreover, if you are a Contestant from Germany, this section does not limit your right to appropriate remuneration under sec. 32 of the German Copyright Act; and furthermore, it does not limit your right of revocation of the rights mentioned above if Sponsor does not or only insufficiently exercises these rights and this significantly impairs your legitimate interests. Furthermore, this section does not limit your right to revoke the above rights of use if the Entry no longer reflects your conviction and you can therefore no longer be expected to agree to the exploitation of the Entry).
