FOCUS photo l.a. Spring/Summer 2018 Competition

Through our long established partnerships with world-renowned photography galleries, art fairs, museums, and publications, FOCUS PHOTO L.A. seeks to expanded career opportunities for the winner’s of FOCUS PHOTO L.A. and provide participants opportunities that would not normally be within their reach.

PRIZES: For this Spring/Summer edition of FOCUS PHOTO L.A. the work of the top 20 finalists will be printed by A & I Fine Art + Photography and then framed by our partner A/C Gallery and exhibited in Arles during Les Rencontres de la Photographie. The Grand Prize Winner will win a round trip ticket to Arles and a three night stay. The FOCUS PHOTO L.A. Spring/ Summer 2018 exhibition will run July 2-8, 2018 in Arles during Les Rencontres de la Photographie .

The Rencontres d’Arles (formerly called Rencontres internationales de la photographie d’Arles) is an annual summer photography festival founded in 1970 by the Arles photographer Lucien Clergue, the writer Michel Tournier and the historian Jean-Maurice Rouquette.

The Rencontres d’Arles has an international impact by showing material that has never been seen by the public before. In 2015, the festival welcomed 93,000 visitors.

The FOCUS photo l.a. Spring/Summer competition opens MAY 5, 2018 and closes Sunday, JUNE 10 , 2018 (Midnight)

Competition Rules
To enter, simply Register here. Upload your 10 images, and submit them into the competition.

TIP : IT IS BEST TO HAVE ALL YOUR IMAGES TOGETHER AND RENAME* THEM (AS DESCRIBED BELOW) PRIOR TO UPLOADING THEM.

UPLOAD INSTRUCTIONS: JPG images only! Images must be less than 8mb in file size. Photos must be saved at 72 DPI before being uploaded. (300 DPI will be requested and sent separately if you become a finalist.)

*Please rename files before uploading so they do not contain any APOSTROHES or SPECIAL CHARACTERS. (" ' @ / | : < > *) .

Once you have provided the nominal entry fee ($60 for 10 images), your images will officially be entered into the current competition and you will receive a confirmation email.

You may submit as many photos as you wish. Just fill out the form again- the nominal entry fee is per every 10 photos.

* Please note FINALISTS will need to provide a file that is 24" on the longest side at 300 dpi in either a .JPEG or .TIFF file format.

- All layers flattened.

- 8-bit RGB mode.

- Saved as a tiff or jpeg with an embedded profile, “Adobe RGB 1998” suggested. 300 dpi @ 24” wide.

- PLEASE BE READY WITH YOUR FILES BY JUNE 14TH (JUST IN CASE) YOU ARE A FINALIST
