Umana Solidarietà International Human Rights Photo Contest

Works from all over the world will be considered.

The Associazione Progetto Civitas announces the call for the first edition of the Umana Solidarietà International Human Rights Photo Contest, as part of the Umana Solidarietà Festival, and invites professional and amateur photographers to present a photo or a project of up to three photographs that reflect the issue of Human Rights with particular reference to the Universal Declaration of Human Rights adopted by the United Nations General Assembly on 10 December 1948.

The photos chosen by the Competition Jury will be exhibited in an exhibition that will be organized in Lecce in June 2020, during the event, and published in the Festival Catalog, on the official website and on its Facebook, Twitter and Instagram channels. Moreover, the photos of the first two winners will receive a prize.

Works from all over the world will be considered.

Prizes:

Only the photos respecting competition theme, in all its forms e according to each personal interpretation will be taken into consideration.

The assessment of the Jury will award the ability of the photographer to build a narrative and emotional story with one or a compelling series of images.

All the finalist photos chosen by the Jury of the Contest will be displayed in an exhibition that will be organized in Lecce in June 2020, as part of the Festival Umana Solidarietà, and published in the Festival Catalog, on the official website and on its Facebook, Twitter and Instagram channels.

The winning photos will receive:

the Umana Solidarietà Human Rights Award 2020 for the first place;
the Umana Solidarietà Human Rights Plate 2020 for the runner-up.
Other prizes and awards may possibly be made available by external bodies and sponsors and by the Professional Orders involved in supporting the event.

Eligibility:

The contest is open to all photographers (professionals and amateurs, collectives, associations, groups, etc.) who are at least 13 years old at the time of entry.

Copyrights & Usage Rights:

The copyright of the photos will continue to be owned by their respective photographers/owners. However, all photographers/owners of the submitted photos hereby grant the Associazione Progetto Civitas (organizer) a perpetual, irrevocable, exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, sub-licensable, freely assignable license to reproduce their entry and to otherwise use, exploit, copy, modify, adapt, edit, publish and display the entry in any form, manner, venue, media or technology now known or later developed for any and all purposes in relation to the Contest and or the Umana Solidarietà Festival, for the exhibition, the Festival Catalog, the public archive, and all promotional, cultural and educational activities for and under the auspices of the Associazione Progetto Civitas and/or of the Festival Umana Solidarietà, including, without limitation, for advertising and promotion, without further compensation, notification, or permission. A photo credit will be given to the photographer in any use.
