International photography contest French Alliance in Spain and EFTI

The French Alliance in Spain and EFTI international photography contest, international photography and cinema center, is looking for excellence in terms of international modern photography and aims to discover gifted photographers and support the development of their photography projects. Three prizes of over 12.000€ are to be distributed. In addition to a financial support for the three finalists, the French Alliance in Spain and EFTI will organize a touring exhibition through the network of French alliances in Spain to show the laureate’s work. This exhibition will be along with a catalog of 8000€.

The three winners are designated by an international jury composed of seven eminent personalities from the art scene. • François HEBEL: Les Rencontres d’Arles manager from 2001 to 2014, Le Mois de la Photo du Grand Paris 2017 artisticdirector and artisticdirector at FotoIndustriaBologna 2017. • Carlos GOLLONET: photography chief conservator at the MAPFRE foundation. • Jean-Paul LEFEVRE: Madrid French Alliance manager and executive officer of the French Alliance in Spain foundation, starting 09/01/2017. • Jean-Louis AMORES: EFTI photography school manager. • Pilar CITOLER: art collector. • Maria SANTOYO: exhibition commissioner, Madrid. • Lucia CASANI: cultural center La Casa Encendida’s manager. The selection committee draws the candidates attention to some principles that might guide their choices: • The originality of an author’s vision. • The artistic quality of the project. • The thematic coherence of the presented project, the wealth, the complexity and the depth of possible interpretations of their work. Every member of the jury has one voice. The contest jury will make a decision before October 30th 2017. The jury’s decisions are without appeal. The winners will be informed personally of the jury’s results through email. These results will be published on the French Alliance in Spain and EFTI websites.

2000€ offered as a formation by the EFTI.
The offered formations as part of the prizes distributed are dispensed by the EFTI. They cannot be exchanged with monetary value. The winners will imperatively have to obtain a subscription number before 09/30/2018.

Copyrights & Usage Rights:

• With participating, the author affirms that every presented image is their own original work. Candidates will have to make sure themselves and ensure the organizers that the selected artwork do not present nor directly neither indirectly any case of copyright issues, or that they have the necessary authorizations for reproduction or exhibition and are able to present them if needed.

• The author of a selected or winning photograph allows the organizers to reproduce and to diffuse their artwork in the only framework of the promotion of the next contest. This includes the publication of the results on the internet and on medias and the promotion of the 2018 contest. Organizers commit not to transferring these exploitation rights and not to use the artwork in any other way without the author’s authorization.
• The laureate commits to giving two signed photographs to the French Alliance in Spain and the EFTI.
• The laureate commits to signing a contract with the Henri Cartier-Bresson foundation, following the elements listed above, during the awards ceremony at the Embassy of France in Spain.
• The selected work remains the property of the laureate, only if the prize French Alliance in Spain is mentioned during future exhibitions or publications.
