Within the framework of the KOLGA TBILISI PHOTO, the biggest and the most prestigious photo contest in Georgia will be held. Registration on photo contest will start 10th of February and will last until 15 March. The jury members will pick out the best photo projects and reveal the winners in each category. The main goal of the AWARD is to link international photography to Georgia and to local photography. Announcement of the Photo Award worldwide – in Europe as well as in the USA – intends to foster its international position.

This year’s categories include:

1. Documentary Series

2. Reportage

3. Conceptual Photo Project

4. Best One Shot

5. Best Portrait

6. Mobile Photo Series

Photos uploaded under Documentary Series, Reportage and Conceptual Photo categories should be a series of a minimum 6 photos to maximum 12 photos. You may enter a maximum of one entries/series in each category. Best One Shot and Best Portrait categories participants can upload a maximum of five photos in each categories. For Mobile Photo Series nomination the participants can upload a minimum 6 photos to maximum 12 photos.

Applicants can participate in any or all categories announced (altogether 58 photos can be uploaded).

Applications for the 2019 Kolga Award shall include: participant must fill the autobiography field. In case of participation in photo series category, fill the title field with title and the fill the text field with the concept description of the series in English (each max. 900 characters).

Photo Award Ceremony will be held on the 3rd of May in Tbilisi, Georgia.

Prizes:

Entry fees will be used for the winners’ prize fund – 7000 USD.

The winners in the first three categories will get 1500-1500 USD each. As for the Best One Shot and Best Portrait categories winners will get 1000 – 1000 USD each, Mobile Photos Series category winners will get a 500 USD.

Kolga Newcomer Photo Award will be given to a young photographer under the age of 25, whose photo series will be chosen among best series in the following categories: Reportage, Documentary Series and Conceptual Photo Project. This award should be established and given to the best photo series of young participants of the photo contest. The winner of this category will receive 500 USD.

Copyrights & Usage Rights:

Copyright remains with the author. Chosen photos will be exhibited on May 4, 2019 in Tbilisi at the KOLGA AWARD exhibition and will be printed in a Photo Week annual catalogue. The photos might be featured in Kolga Tbilisi Photo advertising campaign and printed media.
