In its goal to discover and promote new photographers, MedPhoto Festival, will once again grant the MedPhoto Award, Greece’s first ever international photography prize.
After the 2016 Award Contest in which photographers from 30 different countries took part, an open call for submissions began this year in September 20th. The MedPhoto Award will be granted to a photography project (final or in progress) that will be selected by an international jury and the prize will come with a 3.000€ grant.
The competition’s subject is open.

Submission requirements:
A series up to 12 images
Supporting text of up to 300 words describing the concept and the purpose of the project
Entry dates: September 20 to December 10, 2017.
Submission fee is 20 € and each applicant can only submit one project of up to 12 photographs forming a series.
The project submission will run through Lens Culture and participants will be asked to sign in or create a Lens Culture account before being able to apply.
The Award ceremony will take place in Rethymno (date and venue TBA).

All entrants agree that all photograph(s) submitted to the competition may be reproduced (with photographer copyright credit) and used to conduct and promote the competition. You hereby grant Medphoto with a right to use submitted photographs in the framework of such promotional activities.
Winning photographs may be included in the future in screenings, projections and publications. Medphoto will always notify the owner of the photograph before such an inclusion is made. Each photographer retains copyright of his or her images, and proper credit lines will be attributed to each photographer when exhibited or screened anywhere by Medphoto.
