For the 27th time in a row we’d like to welcome you to join the MontPhoto Contest 2023 nature competition organised by the MontPhoto Association. We invite professional and non-professional photographers, of all ages, from all over the world, to join our contest again this year. We look for a glimpse that documents the diversity, the beauty, the mystery and the fragility of life on our planet.
Welcome to MontPhoto’s 2023 International Nature Photography Contest, open to amateurs and professional photographers and videographers from all over the world organised by the MontPhoto Association.
Our mission is to add value and help spread the art of photography in order to raise awareness and protect nature.
The contest rewards the photographic excellence of its participants. We seek innovative and inspiring images picturing original stories, unknown places, new perspectives, surprising behaviours or new interpretations of what is already known to us. We look for a glimpse that documents the diversity, the beauty, the mystery and the fragility of life on our planet.
MontPhoto is committed to respecting nature and that is why the work presented to this contest must show natural situations respecting the authenticity of the scenery, conserving the living beings in their habitat and by all means avoiding their suffering and the disruption or interference with their behaviour.
The MontPhoto Association is a non-profit organisation, in accordance with Spanish law, and can therefore not benefit financially from its activities. Any budgetary variation will always be used in that regard.

ENVIRONMENTAL PHOTOGRAPHY FOR YOUNG PEOPLE:
CHANGING PLANET (up to 25 years old) (See competition rules)
Prizes:
Join MontPhoto nature contest, a worldwide nature photo competition. Besides the prestigious title “Nature Photographer MontPhoto 2023” Total prize money will amount to €25,000.
In each category the jury will determine a winner, a runner-up and 5 highly commended. The winners of a category will receive €500 in prize money (in cash). The runner-ups will win prizes worth €300 (in cash). The highly commended photographers receive the honour and encouragement. All the winner of the youth category will receive a prize worth €150 (in products).
The winner of a Portfolio category will receive €1000 in prize money (in cash).
In addition, from the 10 category winners the jury will choose one overall winner who will receive a prize to the value of €2000 (in cash).
All awarded images will be shown in the exhibition at the MontPhoto Fest and in a traveling exhibition.
Besides all these prizes, there is the MontPhoto Grant and the especial awards.
Total prize money will amount to €25,000, of which many large cash prizes, and many attractive photographic articles. We will give a continuous update on the prizes, so that there will be an upgrade for the winners next to the prizes already mentioned.
The award ceremony will take place during the MontPhoto Fest 2023 on Friday 7th October 2023 in the Theater in Lloret de Mar (Costa Brava), Catalonia (Spain).
Eligibility:
MontPhoto Contest 2023 is open for nature photographers worldwide, both professional and non-professional, young and old. The competition for the category of young photographers is open for youngsters who have not yet turned 18 on January 1, 2023.

Participants must declare they are the authors of each of their works and have all the rights to dispose of them.
