LONDON, 12 SEPTEMBER 2018 – THE 2ND PHMUSEUM GRANT AIMED AT SUPPORTING WOMEN AND NON-BINARY PHOTOGRAPHERS IS OPEN FOR SUBMISSIONS, OFFERING £10,000 IN CASH PRIZES, 3 PUBLICATIONS ON VOGUE ITALIA, A SOLO EXHIBITION AT VERZASCA FOTO, AND A NOMINATION FOR WORLD PRESS PHOTO’S JOOP SWART MASTERCLASS, PLUS OTHER RELEVANT OPPORTUNITIES.
PHmuseum is glad to open the call of its PHmuseum 2018 Women Photographers Grant, aimed at empowering the work and careers of female and non-binary professionals of all ages and from all countries, working in diverse areas of photography. The Grant further means to facilitate the growth of the new generations and promote stories narrated from a female perspective, while responding to the necessity to fight for gender equality in the industry.
The prizes include £10,000 in cash prizes plus several opportunities to promote the awarded works across media and festivals. Vogue Italia photography department, led by Alessia Glaviano, will select three works among all of the submissions that will be granted an online publication in the magazine. The 1st, 2nd, 3rd and New Generation prizes will also be published on YET Magazine. Verzasca Foto Festival will instead offer a solo exhibition at a project selected by the festival‘s director Alfio Tommasini. All the shortlisted projects (up to 35 works) will be also projected at Photo Vogue Festival 2018. The winner of the New Generation Prize will also be automatically nominated for the World Press Photo 2019 Joop Swart Masterclass.
Applicants are invited to present projects of maximum 20 photos, centred around a concept or a topic, with at least four pictures taken from 2015 onwards. Submissions will be reviewed by judges Alessandra Sanguinetti (Photographer, Member of Magnum Photos), Aida Muluneh (Photographer, Filmmaker and Curator), Karen McQuaid (Senior Curator, The Photographers' Gallery) and Pamela Chen (Creative Lead, Instagram).
Photographers can benefit from a £18 early bird fee during the first two weeks of the application window. The submission deadline is set for 17 October 2018 at 11:59 pm (GMT).

By ticking the Terms and Conditions box, clicking the Pay and Submit button in the fifth step of the Grant submission process and completing the entry fee payment, You submit Your Series to the PHM 2018 Women Photographers Grant and You make the following representations and warranties:

b) You have obtained and have copies of model releases from all subjects depicted in the photograph(s) You submit to the PHM 2018 Women Photographers Grant, and such persons voluntarily consented to publication and/or dissemination of their likeness for all legal purposes.
