ROSL Photography Competition 2021 is now welcoming submissions!

The Royal Over-Seas League are pleased to announce that the 2021 theme of the ROSL Photography Competition is ‘International Friendship’.

To capture contemporary culture in the Commonwealth all images submitted must be taken in the past year (from 7 September 2020), relate to the chosen theme and have a link to current countries of the Commonwealth. This competition is open to photographers 18+ and is FREE to enter!

International: Farah Mahbub, Veerle Poupeye, Sarker Protick

Prizes:

Camera winner will receive £2,000, a trip to the clubhouse exhibition opening, a day of professional tutoring and their winning image will be published in the Overseas magazine.

Mobile Phone winner will receive £1,000 and their winning image will be published in the Overseas magazine.

Young Photographer winner will receive £500 as part of ‘The Madiha Aijaz prize for a young photographer of promise’ which will be chosen solely by judge Farah Mahbub in memory of her colleague and friend.

Top 20 images will be displayed in the Over-Seas House Exhibition.

All Entrants understand that any image submitted to the Competition may be used by ROSL for marketing and promotional purposes of You the author and the Royal Over-Seas League only. You hereby grant ROSL a non-exclusive, irrevocable licence in each Entry throughout the world, in all media for any use connected to the promotion of You the author and the Royal Over-Seas League, including, but not limited to:
the photography competition; displaying the winning and shortlisted competition entries at public exhibitions promoting ROSL and organised by ROSL and allowing the exhibited images to remain on display at Over-Seas House at the discretion of ROSL; inclusion within the Website, a ROSL book, magazine or similar; inclusion within any materials promoting of the ROSL arts programme; allowing viewers of the Website to view images on a computer screen, PDA or mobile telephone and store such pages in electronic form on disk or on a PDA or mobile telephone (but not on any server or other storage device connected to a network) for their personal, non-commercial use only.
ROSL will never distribute any high resolution files to any third party with the exception of printing companies who will be printing the images for the exhibition and to appear in our magazine.

Any photograph used by ROSL shall carry a credit line. Any failure to provide such credit line shall not be deemed to be a breach, as long as ROSL takes reasonable action to rectify such failure within a reasonable period from the date of notice.
