Taylor Wessing Photographic Portrait Prize 2019

The winner of the competition will receive £15,000.

Submit

You can submit up to six photographs. Photographs must be portraits. ‘Portrait’ may be interpreted in its widest sense of ‘photography concerned with portraying people with an emphasis on their identity as individuals’.

All images will be viewed by a panel of judges and the entrants who are successful in this round will be invited to deliver their work to a venue in London for the final round of physical judging.

Prizes:

The winner of the competition will receive £15,000. In addition the judges, at their discretion, will award cash prizes to one or more shortlisted photographers.

The prize winners and exhibition selection is judged on an equal and anonymous basis. In 2018 the exhibition featured over fifty works and was seen by over 40,000 people at the National Portrait Gallery. All selected works will appear in the exhibition catalogue.

Eligibility:

Photographers must have been 18 years of age or over on 1 January 2018.

Copyrights & Usage Rights:

The photographer or their representatives warrant that they are fully authorised and entitled to enter into the agreements contained in these rules, in respect of all rights in the work including ownership, copyright, moral rights, the rights of the people, names, trademarks, designs or works of art depicted in the photographs, and that no further permissions or conditions are required to deliver these agreements.
