Since its inception in 2012, The Architectural Photography Awards (APA) have grown from strength to strength. Photographers have entered - and won - from all over the world. We have seen press coverage about the Awards expand from local trade papers to international media.
The APA have been helped along the way by the World Architecture Festival; together we share an appreciation of the art of photographing architecture. Images of the built world are ubiquitous, used beyond the world of architecture and design, you will see buildings in advertisements for finance, cars, travel and more. Despite the visibility of these images, their creators are invisible. The APA crosses sectors and continents to raise awareness of the skill of these photographer; their ability to translate the sophistication of the built world - the photographer interpreting and explaining the character, detail and environment into readable and understandable two dimensions.
The Architectural Photography Awards are inclusive and we welcome everyone from the full-time professional photographer to the keen amateur using a mobile device.
New for 2021: Two prizes per Award - The Jury prize, judged exclusively by the Jury, and The Delegate prize. Winners will share $4,250 in cash prizes and gain exposure through the World Architecture Festival.
Our four core categories: Exteriors, Interiors, Sense of Place and Buildings in Use will be supplemented with a portfolio category: Building with History and a category exclusively for images shot on mobile devices: Greening the City.

The Architectural Photography Awards are inclusive and we welcome everyone from the full-time professional photographer to the keen amateur using a mobile device.

All imagery MUST be the exclusive work of the submitting photographer and may not include any element that is the copyright of another. The Copyright for each image entered will remain with the submitting photographer. By entering the Competition and submitting your photograph(s), you hereby grant the Promoter, its sponsors and their hosting partner Photocrowd a non-exclusive, irrevocable license to use your photograph(s) for any purpose connected with the Competition, including (but not limited to), promoting the Competition within printed and online media, the inclusion within printed and digital versions of any Competition book, the inclusion within printed and digital versions of any Competition calendar or other merchandise, display at exhibitions, use in press, promotional and marketing materials, social media networks and for the promotion of any future photographic competition in both print and online media.
