The Independent Photographer is a Berlin-based website with an international scope. Launched a year ago, we have established a fast-growing community of artists and art lovers, sharing and appreciating high quality pictures. Best known for our monthly themed photo competitions, which are open to professionals and amateurs alike, independent-photo.com also acts as a showcase for outstanding photographers, allowing their work to reach a wider audience.
We offer a monthly competition open to all photographers. We invite both amateur and established artists to share their work in order to promote the very best contemporary photography from all cultures around the world. Each month winners and finalists are rewarded with cash prizes and exposure.
At the end of the year, images are printed and published in The Independent Photographer book of the year, and the winners and finalists are presented in our annual exhibition in Berlin.

Winner Prize: $1,000 Cash Prize / Home Page Feature / Professional Feedback / Berlin Annual Exhibition* / Published in 2018 Photobook / Global Online Exposure
Finalists Prize:
$500 cash prize, Home Page Feature / Berlin Annual Exhibition* / Published in 2017 Photobook / Global Online Exposure (*Winners and finalists will have their work exhibited in our annual exhibition in Berlin.)

Eligibility:
The Competition is open only to those who are 18 years of age or older as of the date of entry. The Competition is open to legal residents from all over the world, and is void where prohibited by their local law. Employees of The Independent Photographer, its affiliates, subsidiaries, advertising and promotion agencies, and suppliers, (collectively the “Employees”), and immediate family members and/or those living in the same household of Employees are not eligible to participate in the Competition. The Competition is subject to all applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations. Void where prohibited. Entries and images that have been rewarded in other major Competitions are not eligible to the Competition. Entries that have been selected as Finalists in previous competition are eligible to win a cash prize in subsequent competitions.
Copyrights & Usage Rights:
Each Participant retains copyright of his or her images, and credit lines will be attributed to each Participant when exhibited or presented anywhere by The Independent Photographer.
You hereby grant that when you give THE INDEPENDENT PHOTOGRAPHER content, you are giving us a nonexclusive, worldwide, perpetual, irrevocable, royalty-free, sub licensable (through multiple tiers) right to exercise any and all copyright, trademark, publicity, and database rights (but no other rights) you have in the content, in any media existing now or in the future, for three years following the date of submission.
