USA Landscape Photographer of the Year celebrates all that is great about the American landscape and showcases the work of many talented photographers from both the USA and around the world.
Enter the competition for your chance to win the prestigious title USA Landscape Photographer of the Year 2016. Adult and Youth Entries welcome.
USA Landscape Photographer of the Year was founded in 2013 by Charlie Waite, one of today’s most respected landscape photographers, following on from the huge success of the UK competition ‘Take a view – Landscape Photographer of the Year’ which launched in 2006.
In USALPOTY 2016, there are five main categories;

Environmental Care
Classic View
Urban
Black and White
PLUS 2 Special Awards in association with our Partners;
DPReview - 'Life in the Landscape'
and
Future Publishing - 'Wild Landscape'
with additional prizes offered within each category by our supporters plus an exhibition and Awards book.
A total prize fund of $45,000 includes $15,000 for the winner of the overall adult title and $2,500 for the young winner.

$2,500. (Payment of the cash element of the prize will be made to the winner’s parent/guardian if aged under 16 years.)

For the photographers of images then judged to be the best in each of the five ADULT categories, there will be:

Eligibility:
Anybody in the world can enter their images of the U.S.A. taken in the last 5 years.
Copyrights & Usage Rights:
By submitting images to the Competition, each entrant confirms and warrants that:
a) they are the sole author of each entry and that it is their original work;
b) they own the copyright and any other intellectual property rights of each image;
c) they have the prior permission of those pictured in the image (or, where the image shows any persons under 18, the consent of their parent/guardian) for the usage rights required by USALPOTY and Photo Permits Ltd (PPL) in #16 and will indemnify USALPOTY and PPL against any claims made by any third parties in respect of such infringement;
d) they have not licensed or disposed of any rights in the image that would conflict with uses to be made by the Competition (see #16 ); and
e) they have received any necessary permissions from the owner(s) of buildings included in submitted images for the usage rights required by the Competition in #16 and will indemnify USALPOTY and PPL against any claims made by any third parties in respect of such infringement.
By entering the Competition, you grant USALPOTY, PPL and its sponsors and supporters a non-exclusive, irrevocable license to reproduce, enlarge, publish or exhibit, on any media, the images for any purpose connected with the Competition. This may include, but is not limited to:
a) inclusion in the Competition book – print & digital versions;
b) display at any exhibitions;
c) on a secure web browser for judging purposes;
d) on the Competition website and on the websites of sponsors and supporters;
e) for use in press, promotional and marketing materials – both print & digital;
f) on social media used by USALPOTY, PPL, its sponsors and supporters.
If an image is short-listed, the photographer is asked to supply an extended caption for that image. This caption will be subject to the terms # 15a and #16.
Entrants also agree that USALPOTY and PPL can sub-license images to the media and to the Competition’s sponsors and supporters for reproduction in connection with the Competition.
Images used on merchandise commissioned by USALPOTY and PPL will be discussed individually with the photographer concerned and a separate agreement made.
