The Glasgow Gallery of Photography is running an exhibition in August called Portrait.

Portraiture is one of photography’s most enduring and popular genres and has the power to captivate viewers.

For this month’s exhibition, we’re seeking a wide range of portraits that showcase the versatility of the form.

From studio setups to candid snapshots and selfies, portraits are everywhere. We want to see how you approach the genre, whether drawing inspiration from classical traditions or adopting a modern style.

Submit the images you feel best represent portrait photography in all its varied and expressive forms, revealing something about both the subject and the photographer.

Prizes:

Photographers who are selected will have their work displayed in a month long exhibition in our gallery, with their work also appearing online in an online gallery on our website.

All participants that are selected to take part in the exhibition will receive a digital certificate of participation and will also be put forward for a chance to be named Photographer of the Month
