As in the 9th edition, the 10th Edition of The Pollux Awards will be selecting Ten Recipients of the Pollux Awards to exhibit their work in London on Q2 2018.
(The finalists and winners of the 9th edition will be exhibiting on September 19-30, 2017 at the Framers Gallery in London).

TEN PHOTOGRAPHERS WILL BE SELECTED AS RECIPIENTS OF THE POLLUX AWARDS, PLUS CATEGORY WINNERS.

The POLLUX DECENNIAL GRAND PRIZE will be granted in this occasion, selected among the 10 recipients of the Pollux Awards.
The winner of the Grand Prize will be invited to exhibit and attend the 5th edition of the Biennial of Fine Art and Documentary Photography to be held in Prague on September-October 2018. The Gala Awards will pay for her/his round trip couch ticket to Prague, and $1,000 for lodging expenses. The exhibition expenses will be borne by The Gala Awards.

The Gala Awards, organizer of the Pollux Awards, reserves the right to change the city of the Biennial in case of extraordinary circumstances. If Prague is changed by another city, the city of the venue will be always within Europe.

ELIGILIBILITY:
Worldwide. Professional and amateur photographers, and students, working in all mediums, styles and schools of thought. Traditional, contemporary, avant-garde, creative and experimental works that include old and new processes, mixed techniques, and challenging personal, emotional or political statements will be welcome.
Past winners of the Pollux Awards are entitled to enter.

SUBMISSIONS:
Series composed of 3 to 5 images.
A Series is a cohesive body of work, or a story teller, or individual images representing the work or trajectory of the artist, or individual current images, or excerpts of an ongoing project.

Founder of thephotocloser.com, Frank advises and consulates with photographers from around the globe. His services include estimating and negotiating of behalf of photographers to ad agencies. Part of the photo closer offering is brainstorming that motivates and inspires photographer of all levels.
For 25 years, has represented fine art, commercial photographers as well as Pulitzer Prize winning photojournalists in securing highly valued commercial assignments. He has worked on hundreds of company photo libraries and campaigns for clients such as American Express, Acura Motor Sports, US Coast Guard Xerox, ESPN, Citi, Nike and others. His photographers have work for every major newspaper, magazine and TV station around the globe.
Meo participates on various panels and workshops for: PhotoShelter, the International Center of Photography (ICP), The Eddie Adams Workshop,The Art Directors Club, Syracuse University and The One Club for Art & Copy, American Society of Media Photographers (ASMP), and Advertising Photographers of America (APA), PDN Expo and Palm Springs Photo Festival. He was a nominator for the prestigious Infinity Awards in 2010. He was a judge for the Foto Week DC Awards, The Gala Awards, the PDN Photo Contest, Sienna Photo Awards, Moscow Photography Awards, Lucie Awards as well as many contests around the world.

There’s no limitation regarding the total of Series to be submitted and no restriction regarding the date images were taken. Images awarded in previous editions of The Pollux Awards cannot be submitted.

Series can be submitted to more than one Category at no additional cost.

All participants of THE GALA AWARDS (TGA) competitions warrant that they own the work submitted and they have exclusive copyright. By submitting to this award entrants agree with these rules and conditions of entry.
TGA recognizes that the authors retain full ownership of the image copyright.

USAGE:

Participants warrant that their photographs may be reproduced for the purpose of marketing and promoting the Biennial and TGA contests, in catalogues, posters, postcards, publications, and on the Internet. Such use is granted for not more than two years after the announcement of the awards, and without payment to the photographer or featured models. Photographers will receive photo credits with each use, and will allow TGA to sub-license their photographs to the press for reproduction in connection with the contest and TGA exhibitions.

TGA will treat participant’s data confidential, and their email addresses or other personal data will only be used to contact the contestants, and will not be transmitted to third parties without explicit consent.

TGA has the right to reject and remove any entry that contains defamatory, obscene, or pornographic content, or that may be considered a criminal offence or violate any law.
